D2M, Inc. is a leading Silicon Valley product design and consulting engineering firm with world-wide client portfolio. We are looking for an enthusiastic and creative Designer to contribute to the aesthetic vision of D2M’s client portfolio. The ideal candidate will be an “out of the box thinker” with the ability to transform vision into engineering reality.

The ability to gather insight, explore and define design opportunities, help define strategies, create tangible design expressions and transform the essence of these ideas into compelling designs are the factors for success. Our Designer will contribute to projects composed of multidisciplinary teams that span across industrial, medical, consumer electronics and renewable energy markets. The ideal Designer will possess strong conceptual thinking and story telling skills both verbally and visually, coupled with exemplary sketching and drawing talents.

Design portfolio should demonstrate the following:

Bachelors Degree in Industrial Design, Fine Arts or Product Design preferred, plus minimum 5-10 years experience; must demonstrate diversified design portfolio.

A strong technical proficiency with modeling tools (competent in 3D CAD, 2 & 3D design visualization, Adobe suite, Rhino, ProE, Solidworks, etc.)

A strong personal point of view about Design Thinking, UI, Human Factors and Engineering.

Preferably experience in both consulting and in-house design environments.

An ability to fuse design excellence into projects yet adapt style to suit clients needs.

The ability to work collaboratively within multidisciplinary teams.

Must have the ability to effectively convey ideas, design concepts, understanding and appreciation of design aesthetics to clients and internal development teams.
